Spotify started testing Tastebuds, Uncand, a new feature that could mark the start of a "social phase" Swedish music streaming service. The news began to circulate thanks to @wongmjane, the popular developer who in recent hours has spotted a dedicated page on the official website by sharing some screenshots on her Twitter profile.
The information available so far is rather sparse. All we know is that thanks to this function you'll be able to discover new songs through your friends. From the top of the user interface, explains the source, you will be able to search for your friends and, once added, view their music preferences, what they've heard recently and add new songs to your music library at the same time.
A similar feature, then shelved (at least for the time being) by Spotify had emerged in early June, when the same developer had identified the possibility of sharing the music playing in real time with its own network of friendships.
As this is also an internal test, it is unclear when Spotify will decide to release this feature publicly. In the meantime, we remind you that Wrapped 2019 is recently available, a feature that traces the 2019 users show the most listened to songs and artists of the last 12 months.
