Apple Patents a folding device

Apple could enter the game of folding smartphones, which with the different vicissitudes of Samsung and Huawei seems to have lost momentarily appeal. Cupertino's company was awarded the patent for a screen and folding cover device, a patent for which it had applied to the competent American office in January 2018.
The illustrations contained in the document show a device that bends in half in the short side, like a book, but also in three parts as "S". The designs let you think of a tablet more than a smartphone. On the other hand, the leaflets shown so far by Samsung and Huawei are smartphones that, once opened, assume the size of a tablet.
Although, as with all patents, there is no certainty that the idea will turn into a commercial product, the technology could be used by Apple for an iPhone that fits into the nascent market of folding smartphones, market that is hard to get away. Samsung has indeed had to postpone the sale of the Galaxy Fold, after some devices in test to journalists showed problems of resistance of the screen. Huawei, however, is struggling with the attacks and trade bans of the U.S. government, which create uncertainty about the launch of Mate X.
